About
My name is Sarah Hill and I currently reside in San Diego, California. I have been drawn to art ever since I can remember. I started doodling in notebooks as a young child which then progressed into painting, ceramics, sculpture and then finally photography. I feel called to various mediums depending on my mood on a given day, and each medium allows me to express myself in different ways. I do have a favorite medium which is photography.
Through the eye of the lens I am able to focus on certain shapes and colors that I feel compelled to portray to the world. I am most often drawn to things that are a bit dark and forgotten, and I receive my greatest joy when I can capture the beauty of the most ordinary subject material. If I can turn a dilapidated pier pylon into a magnificent display of shape and light and color then I feel that I have done my part. That philosophy extends itself into all other parts of my life. I hope you enjoy.. and most importantly, my hope is that when you look at my photos that it touches something deep.
I am also a member of Creative Compound, a collaboration of driven artists local to San Diego. Our goal is to combine traditional and modern ways of expressing art while still providing unique & affordable products to the public.
